What is Real Food Therapy?

Real Food Therapy is the nutritional therapy practice of Nutritional Therapy & Restorative Wellness Practitioner, Karen Voelkening-Behegan, and nutritional therapy is the science and art of using nutrition in specific, targeted ways to help improve your overall health.

... so you'll look better, feel better, focus better, perform better, and gain the energy you need to live the life you deserve!

At Real Food Therapy, Karen recognizes that there is an intimate connection between the body, mind, and spirit.  As a certified Nutritional  Therapy & Restorative Wellness Practitioner, Karen uses the Restorative Wellness Path to Wholeness in her practice.  Based on the foundations of health, this path leads you through an exploratory process where you uncover and address the key factors which influence both your nutritional status and your general health and longevity.

We start with a survey of your symptoms and a health history that addresses not only the physical, but also emotional, dietary, and stress factors in your life.  We then move on to your Initial one-on-one Consultation where we go over your thorough case history.  Your Initial Consultation concludes with dietary and lifestyle recommendations that specifically address your health concerns.

Guiding you along your Restorative Path to Wholeness, Karen will recommend any testing she feels is necessary to truly get to the root of any uncomfortable symptoms you may be experiencing.  The most significant tests address foundational issues such as nutritional status, food sensitivities, digestive function, metabolic type, blood sugar status, adrenal status, and detoxification capacity.

When your test results come in, if you still aren't feeling your absolute best after your initial dietary and lifestyle adjustments, Karen will revise your wellness plan to address your specific symptoms and test results, always considering physical, biochemical, and lifestyle influences.  Though the primary focus is on nutrition, Karen recognizes that not all health problems are entirely biochemical in nature.

Using the Restorative Wellness Path to Wholeness, Karen's goal is to help you be the best you can be in body, mind, and spirit.  She will offer you the appropriate referrals whenever necessary, whether for medical intervention, or psychological or spiritual support.

With Real Food Therapy and Karen's professional guidance, together you will embark on your optimal health journey.  It will be a journey based on Real Food that respects the holistic interaction between body, mind, and spirit, where true healing both begins and ends.
